What is Morse code?

Morse code converts characters into a sequence of signals. In the 1800s, Morse code helped pioneers communicate across distances. Initially, only a few letters were encoded using simple dots and spaces. Eventually, Morse code expanded to cover the full alphabet. A more inclusive code for all letters was finalised in 1851 as International Morse.
